Souvenirs galore! A Route 66 icon since 1960, it is home to the “Free 72 oz. Steak.” (If you can eat their 72 oz. steak dinner in one hour, you’ll get it free … cardiologist bill not included.)

These strong Route 66 supporters are considered to be a highly-rated Texas experience by national magazines and TV shows. They have a unique and kitschy gift shop, funky dioramas and are a Wi-Fi hot spot.

This was a stop on the 2002 Route 66 Caravan, a 66-day road trip led by preservationist and historian, Jim Conkle. He lead the The Route 66 Caravan from “pier to pier,” Santa Monica to Chicago to raise the awareness of Route 66 and the need to preserve it. He posted more than 50 Hampton “Save a Landmark” signs along the route.
