Old Route 66
Old alignment of Route 66
In between Miami and Afton is a zig-zaggy stretch of 9 foot wide original Route 66 roadbed, hence the “Sidewalk” moniker. In certain places of this narrow byway, you can see the original white lines on the edges of the Portland concrete road. Drive slow and be ready to pull over to the shoulder is another car approaches. It is on the National Register of Historic Places, and can still be driven with a little caution.
