Blowing back towards Flagstaff

Sultana Bar - Williams, AZ

Day 9 – Kingman to Flagstaff

Since Patty has to fly home tomorrow out of Flagstaff, we turned the rover around and took a leisurely drive back, despite the 50 mph winds. Far fewer photos (49 vs 890 the day before – ridiculous, I know. There is some serious editing ahead) We stopped back in Williams to fill up ($4.49 a gallon!!!) and ended up spending the afternoon there.

We had an incredible lunch of posole soup and a grilled chicken salad with a ginger dressing at the Red Raven Restaurant. Crazy good. Tried to get the recipe for the soup, but the owner told us that her husband comes in every morning a “throws together” the soup of the day. Mmmmm. And don’t forget those cookies at Pine Country Restaurant. Seriously good road snacks. (kinda offsets that healthy lunch, doesn’t it?)

A tour of the Caboose for nightly rental at the Canyon Motel and RV Park was our final Williams stop before we journeyed on. I can see how kids would totally groove on staying there…queen bed in front, bunk beds in back and a real caboose to boot!
